July. 2024

In this season, we can find wild strawberries when we walk around our house.
Be careful about the prickles and pick the fruits.
The taste is sweet and a bit sour.

<Our guests of this month>

We had Anthony and Stephanie from Australia.
Saku asked Anthony san holding up many times. He was so kind that he met Saku’s demands all the time.

We had a Spencer from US. We cooked Japanese food together.
And he hanged out with our elder son a lot, playing his original POKEMON board game, or going to school together.

We had a first traveller from Austria. Johanna was really active,fun person.
First day. She joined in our MATCHA lunch and WASHI paper making tour.
She loved riding a bicycle to the forest, waterfalls and even Maizuru.

We had a mom and 2 daughters from Switzerland for 10 days.
The younger daughter speaks German and can’t speak English. Saku speaks Japanese and can’t speak English either.
But they played a lot and she taught how to play chess. Language is not so important to them.
The mother cooked the traditional Switzerland dish “Zürcher Geschnetzeltes” and we loved it. We want to taste it in Switzerland someday.

We had Lauren from the States.
She came with a big backpack. It reminds me of traveling around the world.
No plan until last moment! We like that kind of style for travelling.Since we had kids,it is a bit difficult though.
While her staying here, we cooked together, read books to learn Japanese(we have lots of children books) and played Ping Pong at the onsen.

<Family trip>

We went to Nagano pref. this year. Saku is getting used to prepare the tent.
The altitude is a bit high so it was cold during the night.
We saw Mt. Fuji from Kirigamine Highlands.

<Saku and Aito of this month>

Saku likes volleyball because of the animation “HAIKYU” and joined practicing held in Ayabe.
Even playing volleyball is hard for 6 years old, he has been practicing good!

Aito loves drawing!

<Made by Saku>
He made a PC with family picture and the letter.
